Pinky - If you're looking for absinthe I saw it in a shop in Milenia Walk. I cannot remember the name but it's on the first floor and indoors, relatively clo...

no no, the tools are A grade

they are too cheap to issue white board cleaners and some other stuff u use daily

ah i see.

fudgester SG

plus your medic gear, plus 9 mags, two frags and a smoke, two litres of water, etc .... you can only waddle along then .....

a nice, slow, waddling target ....

I already have one big red crosshairs on my upper arm anyway.

Perfect for a sniper to zero his weapon.

Fatum SG

so the americans can do it but we can't?

I remember my old CO letting a few of us try out his class IV combat vest before .... it IS heavy ... and most of them ARE a lot bigger ... and even then, they do waddle along too ... hell, even our SFG frags were customized for smaller asian hands ... we just can't hump the same amount of gear around ....

and it's not a blanket solution either ...it's hot in the tropics, and humid ... it'll be like wearing a mobile sauna ....

ah yes, that's right, I forgot ....

ever watch "letters from Iwo Jima" ? ....

the little nip LT telling his chaps to target the american medics, cos they'll risk a lot of lives to save the medics ? ...

the Bear SG

1st target = PC
2nd target = Pl Sgt
3rd target = Pl Medic

the rest of the platoon isn't going to move after that

anyway, the coolest thing the US army is going to invest in is this hugeass remotely controllable ATV which will carry all the gear the grunts usually lug with them...

the grunts will then be in their armour, carrying basically their personal weapons.. the rest of the shit like supplies, additional ammo, support weapons, frags and whatever will be on the thing... thing is quiet as hell (i think it's electric) and can either be driven, or remotely controlled...

in the event of a firefight, it can be used for quick evacuation or to be used to hide behind as it can deflect small arms fire...

kopiosatu SG

chicken king would kill his own PC first

I remember reading about the Israelis coming up with a system that can actually set up protective electromagnetic forcefields around vehicles.... I think they call it TROPHY.

I've also read about the Yanks coming up with some camouflage wear that can make grunts literally blend in with the environment.

Damn.... Star Wars and Predator in real life...

the Bear SG

the Israelis came up with this defensice weapons system which shoots down incoming RPGs and other hard-hitting things like shells and missiles... small enough to be loaded onto a land rover sized vehicle, a few can be deployed to protect a convoy..

I think trophy's actually a projectile based system ... don't think anyone's come up with those star-wars-esque energy shield things yet ....

hisoka SG

I hope it isn;t based on metal detection or speed ratio. it'll be a joke if it can stop bullets but arrows pass through with impunity

Kuali Baba SG

Hello peeps. I'm lost when it comes to the military talk, but I've been nursing a rash on the back of me neck since last night.

Fatum SG

well, I'm blardy impressed that they were able to zap mortar and artillery shells ......

but I wonder what would happen if, say, a bird wanted to fly in for a rest on the tank ? ....

*zap ! ...

*sqawks ! ...

that's why I say likely it's based on minimum speed. so that it doesn't zap the soldier who put his hands out

Skynet is biding its time. Terminators already live amongst us.

ISN'T THAT RIGHT FUDGIE? OR SHOULD I CALL YOU T700!!!

hmmmm ... interesting thought .......

how can the system differentiate between a suicide bomber sneaking up with a satchel charge and the fellow from the next tank coming up to beg for a smoke, if at all ....

might that mean FS is really his maintainence officer? to keep him well maintained, refuel, change oil, upkeep circuits, etc?

Fatum SG

okie ... I can feel the gurgling in my stomach again ....

no idea but the idea was to just stop projectiles like shells and bullets right? not humans. otherwise it would be the perfect prison system assuming it can be turned on 24/7 cheaply

change oil......
